Resolution Guide

When choosing a digital camera, generally the more resolution the better. When it comes to making a Digital C-Print, you don’t need more resolution than the printer will use for any given print size. The table below is a reference guide for image size requirements for any given print size. Please note these are conservative minimum image sizes listed below, often resizing up 25% or so will result in no perceptible quality difference. If resizing up beyond 25% is necessary, we recommend using a program called Genuine Fractals before uploading.

Native resolution of the Polielettronica is 254 dpi, true photographic continuous tone, (colored dyes blending into one another) equivalent to 3000 dpi in dithered tone ink jet printing systems.
